Higher Secondary Examination - 2004

The overall success rate in the higher secondary (Standard XII) examinations in TamilNadu has improved from 75.2 per cent last year to 76.3.

This year the top ranker of Tamil Nadu is T. Nivethitha from St. Joseph's Anglo-Indian Higher Secondary School, Tiruchi. She scored 1183 out of 1200 marks. The official top scorers are selected only from those who opt for Tamil as the second language. 3 students with 1180 were officially placed second and 7 students with 1178 were third rankers.

Two students from the neighbouring districts of Namakkal and Erode have topped the Tamil Nadu Professional Courses Entrance Examinations. Satchi A. Surendran from Erode scored 99.64 marks (biology 49.64 and physical sciences 50), leading the toppers in the medical stream. V. Vignesh of Namakkal got 99.11 (mathematics 50 and physical sciences 49.11), securing the top slot in the Engineering group.

This year the top ranker of Tamil Nadu State in SSLC S. Gayathri of St. Joseph's Girls Higher Secondary School, Thanjavur, with 495 out of 500 marks emerged the topper.

This year the top ranker of Tamil Nadu State in the Matriculation M.A. Uttara of TVS Lakshmi Matriculation Higher Secondary School, Madurai, with 1,068 out of 1,100 marks. Her classmates, V. Swarna and A. Rukma Krithika took the second and third slots.

This year the top ranker of Tamil Nadu State in the Anglo-Indian stream, B. Anusha of St. Domincs at St. Thomas Mount here got 963 out of 1,000 to secure the top rank.
