Water level in the Mettur Dam stood at 99.73 feet today against its maximum of 120 feet. As per the readings taken by the PWD officials at 8 am, the inflow was 2,758 cusecs and outflow 2,752 cusecs. Storage was 64.492 tmc against the capacity of 93.4 tmc

 Manoharan first visually-challenged HM in TN
    
       N. Manoharan, 54, has become the first visually-challenged principal of a 'normal' government school in Tamil Nadu.
Manoharan, who has been teaching English in Mettur, he was appointed as PG assistant in English at the government school in Mettur in 1984 and then in Tiruvannamalai and Kancheepuram for the past 26 years, Now Manoharan was promoted recently as the headmaster of the government higher secondary school at Melapulam near Arakonam, which was also upgraded this year from a high school
